You don’t need a full closet this fall, just the right ten pieces. Everything here works with everything else, so getting dressed is one easy decision instead of five. This is the capsule wardrobe we’d build if we were starting from scratch.
The math: 4 tops, 2 bottoms, 4 layers
A capsule wardrobe is a small set of pieces chosen so any top goes with any bottom and any layer. Ours is ten pieces in a tight palette of neutrals. Four tops, two bottoms and four layers make 32 outfits, and that’s before you reach for your favourite jeans.
The four tops
